1962 ROLLS ROYCE PHANTOM V JAMES YOUNG PV22SD SEDANCA de VILLE - 5BX44
Description
One of eight such masterpieces ever built, not all of which are known to have survived, this example is the very one pictured in Martin Bennett’s widely respected volume “Rolls Royce and Bentley- The Crewe Years.” It is a well restored vehicle, as shown by 1988 era receipts from Hooper’s UK totaling in excess of 90,000 British Pounds. Upon arrival to our facility, certain aspects were found not to be to our standards, and these deficiencies have been corrected by our workshops. They were: The finish between the rear bumper and the decklid was unsatisfactory and has been corrected, as have the upper covers to the “B” posts and the front cover for the Sedanca part of the roof. The break line on the two tone part of the bonnet did not flow smoothly into the cowl and has been corrected, after which the entire pinstripe was redone in Beige to complement the rear interior compartment. The fit of the lower part of the doors was not as new when viewed from the rear of the vehicle, and these were reworked along with the adjacent areas and refinished as required. The two areas in back of the rear picnic tables were not fitted with racks for crystal glasses as normally found in James Young PV 22 and 23 series. These have been fabricated and the correct Tudor crystal glasses installed.has A correct handbook accompanies the vehicle, along with copies of the factory order (chassis only) and the James Young body files.

The mechanical aspects, while previously extensively overhauled, have been thoroughly reviewed and upgraded so as to ensure proper and correct performance of the automobile.

At the request of the most recent owner, extraordinarily efficient air conditioning has been installed and the cooling system has been upgraded with today's technologies. This superb performer, a thoroughly reliable automobile, is a delight to drive or to be driven regardless of the climate.
